Dr. Fokin received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree at Duke University in 2005. He obtained his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honors in 2010.
He completed his internship and residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital in Mianmi, Florida where he was elected as the chief administrative orthopaedic resident responsible for management of multiple orthopaedic services. He served as active member of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) committee, resident leadership council and clinical competency committee.
While at the University of Miami, Dr. Fokin worked as an assistant team physician for Miami Hurricanes football team. Additionally, he worked with the Miami Marlins training staff during 2014-2015 seasons. He completed his fellowship training at Kaiser Permanente Sports Medicine fellowship in San Diego, California where he worked as an assistant team physician for Southwestern College and the United States Navy Seals at the Coronado naval base.
Currently, Dr. Fokin is the vice chief of Orthopaedics at Memorial Regional Hospital and one of the head team physicians for Florida Memorial University (FMU), Broward College and ASA College – Miami. He also provides medical coverage for the Del Ray Open ATP 250 Tennis Tournament every year.
