Dr. Jonathan F. Wise, a native of New Rochelle, New York has been practicing ophthalmology in Hollywood, Florida since completing his residency at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in 1979. He provides comprehensive medical and surgical treatment for a wide variety of eye conditions including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, eyelid and tearing disorders and macular degeneration. Subspecialty interests include refractive surgery, corneal transplantation and small incision, no stitch cataract extraction.
Dr. Wise’s undergraduate degree from the Engineering College of Cornell University has proven invaluable in the design of several surgical instruments employed in modern eye surgery. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dr. Wise is board certified in ophthalmology with fellowships in the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of numerous medical societies including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgery and the American Medical Association.
He has served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at both Memorial Regional Hospital and Memorial Regional South Hospital.
