Professional Statement
Dr. Simon is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in arthroscopy, arthroscopic knee and shoulder reconstruction, and sports medicine. Dr. Simon completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center from 1990 to 1991.
Dr. Simon earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 1981. He is a 1985 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed an internship in General Surgery in 1986 and a residency program in Orthopaedic Surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia in 1990.
Dr. Simon is well known for his sports medicine participation throughout Broward County and South Florida. He serves as team physician and medical consultant for many professional, Olympic, and local collegiate and high school athletes. Dr. Simon currently is one of the team physicians for the U.S. Soccer Federation, which cares for both men’s and women’s national World Cup and Olympic Soccer teams. He has worked with the Men’s Professional Tennis Tennis (ATP) Tour. He was the medical director at the Citrix Tournament in Delray Beach, Florida. Dr. Simon served as the chief medical officer of the 1996 Olympics, South Florida Soccer venue. He has also served as team physician for the Miami Fusion (Major Leage Soccer), Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, Ft. Lauderdale Dive team, USA Diving, Disney Marathon, Umbro Select College All Star Soccer Tournament, Barcelona Dragons of the World Football league, Broward Community College, and Plantation High School athletic teams.
Dr. Simon is a member of the American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, and the Broward County Medical Association. He has also been appointed as an Expert Medical Advisor by the Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation. Dr. Simon performs second opinions.
